Dr Rhys first completed a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil & Construction – First Class Honors). After working for a short period as an engineer – he found himself drawn to the health sector where he felt there was a great sense of personal fulfillment in being able to provide meaningful impact to the lives of everyday people.

This change in his journey led him to obtain a Bachelor of Oral Health Science and Master of Dentistry at Griffith University. Dr Rhys enjoys employing an engineering mindset to analyze and design solutions for his patients.

After completing his dental degree, Dr. Rhys commenced his studies to obtain a Graduate Diploma in Dento-facial Orthodontics at the London Dental School – that is strongly complimented by his engineering background, to allow him to assist young families ensure their children are developing and growing to their full potential.

Dr. Rhys is a passionate advocate for interceptive orthodontics, recognizing its crucial role in identifying and treating orthodontic issues as early as possible. By intervening early, he can often prevent more severe orthodontic issues from developing and improve overall dental health. Furthermore, Dr. Rhys has a deep understanding of the links between orthodontics and systemic health issues such as facial development, speech, psycho-social development of children, and airway patency.

Dr. Rhys is also truly passionate about CAD/CAM and 3D printing technology, utilizing a full digital workflow to provide his patients with highly accurate and customized dental restorations. He believes that the future of dentistry lies in the ability to deliver high-quality and efficient care, and this technology is a critical component of that vision. With this cutting-edge technology, Dr. Rhys is able to create restorations that fit precisely and look natural, while also saving time for his patients, who can often complete their treatment in a single visit.

Dr. Rhys is warm and friendly, with a strong attention to detail. He believes in taking a patient-centered approach and works closely with his patients to develop a treatment plan that is tailored to their individual needs. When he’s not pursuing his scientific interests, he plays guitar and values the peace and tranquility of nature.
